Ultimate Bridal Show THIS SUNDAY!

The programs are in and we can't wait to share them with you this weekend!

It is Athens' ONLY boutique bridal show, featuring more than 40 exclusively local wedding professionals. This will be your one-stop shopping event for all the services you’ll need to make your sweetest dreams become your most precious memories. The Ultimate Bridal Show will be held Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 12-5 pm at the Georgia Center on the UGA campus in Athens, Georgia. Tickets for the big event will be $8 at the door. Tickets are only available on the day of the show. Everyone is welcome, so bring your bridal party and even your groom! And- check this out: $3 off with a ticket stub from any other bridal show in January!

Additionally, we will announce the winners of the Magical Wedding Giveaways; who knows? Maybe you will be one of several lucky winners who will go home with incredible prizes that will bring you closer to the wedding of your dreams!

Featured Wedding :: Sarah & Steve

Sarah and Steve met in Athens and love everything about this town. They had moved to Boston and came back to Athens to have their wedding before taking a month long honeymoon traveling across the country so that Steve could start culinary school at the CIA in Napa Valley. That being said, food and family are very important to these two and there was plenty of that at their wedding! Thanks to all of the AWP vendors who helped make this day fabulous for Sarah and Steve!

Featured Wedding :: Gwendolyn & Cliff

Gwendolyn and Cliff met through a mutual friend. They both attended the University of Georgia and met in Athens, so they thought it would be perfect to start their lives out as husband and wife here. They chose the Foundry Park Inn because they both really liked the rustic brick look. Gwendolyn and Cliff wanted their wedding to be about them-very personal- so they put together the ceremony vows and wording. For the reception they had a sign in canvas instead of a guest book- designed by ZoomWorks. They had garden rocks where people could write a message or draw on. They didn't do the traditional bouquet toss or garter toss - instead they did an Anniversary Dance. The colors for their wedding were red and black because they loved them and of course because it's the Georgia Bulldogs colors! Thank you to the AWP Members who made their day so special!

Athens Wedding Professionals' annual Bridal Show is coming up! Check out Harriet & Josh's wedding- she found most of her wedding vendors at last year's Bridal Show!

Note from Harriet :: "I went to the 2010 AWP Ultimate Bridal show and found the perfect vendors for my wedding! Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be and more! We had a fantastic photographer who was able to capture the beauty of the botanical gardens and the gorgeous chapel that we got married in. We used Trumps to cater our big day and everything from the beautiful cake to the delicious meal was taken care of down to the smallest detail."

Featured Wedding :: Jackie & Greg

Greg and Jackie met several years ago through Jackie’s sister after a UGA football game! Having gotten to know each other in Athens and since both of them went to school there, it was an easy decision that Athens would be where they would get married. Everyone at the Foundry was a dream to work with and Gardenia’s flowers were absolutely breathtaking. They then found a fabulous DJ, Tony Washington of EPO DJ, who was sure to make the reception a party to remember, an amazing photographer, Courtney Goldman, who captured every single moment of their special day with style and grace, and Carrie Scruggs, whose beautiful harp playing made their ceremony very unique and elegant. Their wedding was full of vintage touches, lots of green, and memories of family and friends as shown in old family pictures set up all around the reception room. It was a very memorable day.

Kimberly & Curtis were extremely lucky on their wedding day. Not only was the sum shining for their special day in February, but it was a warm 70 degrees most of the day too! This couple had amazing taste and attention to detail when it came to every detail of their wedding. We were so excited that this couple, who lives in Atlanta, chose Athens as their wedding destination. With the help of a handful of AWP vendors, and the love and devotion of a fabulous couple, this wedding went off without a hitch! Thanks to all the AWP members who helped make their day so special!

Apryl and Stan met through a mutual friend on Apryl's birthday. The State Botanical Garden of Georgia was the venue for their reception. It was the perfect choice for two nature lovers and gardeners. They wanted orchids and flowers everywhere and had a stunning ice bar that was the centerpiece in the conservatory. They used Athens Sketchbook as their unique guest book and even had an artist paint the reception! Their wedding day was a true joy from beginning to end."
