Athens Wedding Professionals' annual Bridal Show is coming up! Check out Harriet & Josh's wedding- she found most of her wedding vendors at last year's Bridal Show!

Note from Harriet :: "I went to the 2010 AWP Ultimate Bridal show and found the perfect vendors for my wedding! Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be and more! We had a fantastic photographer who was able to capture the beauty of the botanical gardens and the gorgeous chapel that we got married in. We used Trumps to cater our big day and everything from the beautiful cake to the delicious meal was taken care of down to the smallest detail."

Apryl and Stan met through a mutual friend on Apryl's birthday. The State Botanical Garden of Georgia was the venue for their reception. It was the perfect choice for two nature lovers and gardeners. They wanted orchids and flowers everywhere and had a stunning ice bar that was the centerpiece in the conservatory. They used Athens Sketchbook as their unique guest book and even had an artist paint the reception! Their wedding day was a true joy from beginning to end."

What a crazy, fun, rainy wedding Nicole and Tyler had! An outdoor wedding in the spring in Georgia can be beautiful. There are so many colorful trees and flowers blooming, and the weather can be just perfect. On the other hand, it could rain — and rain it did! But it didn’t slow the party down. And it didn’t stop Courtney Goldman Photography from getting outdoor photos – on the porch of The Taylor Grady House! The gorgeous flower arrangements, bouquets, and table tops were created by the amazing Maggie over at European Floral Design. The men looked great in their suits from Perno's Formal Wear. Trumps made a great dinner buffet and a beautiful and delicious cake. Barron's Rental provided the much needed tent, along with the tables, chair, and other necessities. Courtney Goldman Photography was there to capture the emotion of the day as well as the amazing details - provided mostly by Athens Wedding Professional Members!

Aimee and Andrew met through mutual friends at UGA. They were friends for nearly 2 years before they started dating. They chose Ashford Manor as their wedding venue because they found it to be a beautiful, magical place. They also attended Concerts on the Lawn there for several summers while dating. Aimee loves hydrangeas because they remind her of her grandmother. Therefore, their colors were blue and white with a hint of lime green. Aimee's grandmother did the flower arrangements and she made awesome kissing balls that hung in the trees.

Joanna and Charles were married in December. They chose to get married at UGA because it's where they met! They met during freshman orientation at the University of Georgia, but did not start dating until nine years later when we reconnected in Atlanta.

Bri and Eric found many of their wonderful vendors at The Athens Wedding Professionals Ultimate Bridal Show! Consultants Unlimited was the day-of coordinator, and helped everything run smoothly. Hallie Jane's catered the wedding and Deborah's Specialty Cakes provided the delicious wedding cake. Bri and Eric's wedding was held on Lake Oconee during the Georgia flooding, so there were some minor changes to the wedding day plans.

An Athens girl, born and bred, fell in love with a Mississippi boy…Kathleen and Britt both knew the big day would be in Athens! The ceremony took place at the Bride's church, Catholic Center at UGA, followed by a seated dinner in the Empire Room at the Classic Center. The crisp January day was colored with a palette of red, black, white, and silver…including a trip to the Arch…all an Athens girl could ever want. The reception was full of good food and cheer, laughter and tears, dancing and the bride's favorite cake - carrot cake!! What a truly memorable way to ring in 2010!

Holly and Mark found the Botanical Gardens Day Chapel when running on the trails one day. Little did they know it was one of the most popular places to get married in Athens. They wanted the theme of their wedding to stay very nature-like with plenty of light blues and greens, with a touch of ivory and crystal. They made sure to incorporate plenty of butterflies, by having a butterfly release and butterfly accent pieces. They nature theme continued through the flowers by adding moss, curly willows, and twigs.

Wonderful memories of autumn in Athens provided the inspiration for Whitney and Dustin’s wedding on October 24, 2009. Dustin’s proposal on the steps of the University of Georgia Chapel simply sealed the deal for the ceremony site. The color palate featured the bride’s favorite color purple in combination with opulent shades of orange. From the intimate, spiritual ceremony to the fantastically fun reception, the evening was everything they had hoped for. The venue, flowers, food, and entertainment were wonderful! Thanks to the AWP members who contributed to their amazing day!
